1. Sugar Industry
Operational Sugar Mills: 535 mills during the 2023-24 sugar season.
Sugarcane Production: Approximately 5000 lakh metric tonnes (LMT).
Sugar Production: 320 LMT.
Ethanol Production: 24 LMT of sugar utilized.
Sugarcane Dues Payment:
Previous Seasons: 99.9% dues cleared.
2023-24 Season:
Total Dues: ₹1,11,627 crore.
Paid: ₹1,09,744 crore (98% clearance).
Outstanding: ₹1,883 crore.
2. Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) Programme
Blending Target: 20% ethanol blending in petrol by 2025.
Ethanol Blending Achieved (2023-24): 14.6%.
Ethanol Distillation Capacity:
2014: Less than 200 crore litres.
2023-24: 1685 crore litres.
Grain-Based: 744 crore litres.
Molasses-Based: 941 crore litres.
