Chennai. Export offer price is witnessing a decline due to ease in supply and availability of pulses in the international market and weak demand in importing countries. Export offer price of pulses for shipment to India also witnessed a significant decline in major supplier countries during the week of September 4 as compared to the week of August 28.

It is worth mentioning that India imports a large amount of pulses from Myanmar, Australia, Russia, Canada, Brazil and African countries, which mainly include Tuvar, Urad, Masoor, Yellow Peas and Desi Chana.

During the week under review, the export offer price of Urad for September-October shipment to India fell from $ 880 to $ 875 per tonne in Brazil, but the price of FSQ in Myanmar improved from $ 775 to $ 780 per tonne and the price of SQ remained stable at $ 860 per tonne.

As far as Desi Chana is concerned, its offer price in Australia for shipment to India fell from $620 to $610 per tonne for September-October delivery and from $555 to $550 per tonne for October-November delivery.

Similarly, in Canada, the export offer price of green lentils to India for October-November shipment fell from $650 to $615 per tonne and that of red lentils fell from $580 to $555 per tonne.

On the other hand, the export offer price of red lentils in Australia fell from $600 to $560 per tonne, while the offer price for September-October shipment also fell from $600 to $580 per tonne.

Similarly, the export offer price of pigeon pea for October-November delivery fell from $535 to $520 per tonne in Mozambique and from $520 to $500 per tonne in Malawi. Myanmar's price is much higher than that of African countries.

The offer price of yellow peas for October-November shipment to India fell from $355 to $350 per tonne in Canada, while it remained at the previous level of $350 per tonne in Russia-Ukraine.
