Relaxation in GST norms
★ The government has eased rules to ensure the benefit of GST rate cuts reaches consumers while reducing the compliance burden on industry.
★ For packages manufactured before 22 September 2025, putting a revised price sticker is optional.
★ The requirement to publish revised MRP in two newspapers has been removed; providing a price list to dealers is sufficient.
★ Old packaging can be used until 31 March 2026 or until stocks are exhausted, whichever is earlier.
★ Companies have been advised to inform consumers about the revised GST rates through print, electronic, and social media.
★ This step aims to balance ease of doing business with consumer protection.
