★ सेबी ने 7 एग्री जिन्स वायदा पर लगी रोक को 31 जनवरी 2025 तक बढ़ाया।

★ यह बैन गेहूं, धान, चना, सरसों, सोया, क्रूड पाम तेल, मूंग पर लगाया गया।

★ केवल एक महीने बैन बढ़ाए जाने से उम्मीद है कि भविष्य में कुछ जिन्स (खासकर तेल-तिलहन) का वायदा चालू हो सकता है।

SEBI extended the ban on 7 agri commodities futures till 31 January 2025

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has extended the ban on futures trading for seven agricultural commodities—wheat, paddy (non-basmati), gram (chana), mustard seeds, soya bean, crude palm oil, and moong—until 31 January 2025. This decision is in continuation of SEBI's efforts to curb speculative activity and control inflation in the prices of essential commodities.

The ban, initially imposed to stabilize volatile market prices and ensure adequate supply for domestic consumption, has been extended only for one month this time. This has led to speculation that the regulator may allow futures trading for some of these commodities, particularly oilseeds, in the near future. Oilseeds like mustard and soybean are critical for India's edible oil sector, and reopening futures could provide better price discovery and hedging options for stakeholders.
