Slow Start to 2025 as Soybean Meal Exports Decline
★ India's export of soybean meal (solvent extracted, defatted variety – HS Code 23040030) began 2025 on a slower note. In January 2025, exports stood at 1,45,408.02 metric tons, significantly lower than January 2024’s figure of 2,33,128.98 metric tons.
★ In comparison, total exports for the year 2024 were recorded at 16,94,264.2 metric tons, up from 14,39,397.7 metric tons in 2023. ★ India had exported 4,54,216.3 metric tons in 2022 and 9,16,409.7 metric tons in 2021.
★ Soybean Meal Export in January (Year-wise Comparison):
2025 – 1,45,408.02 metric tons  
2024 – 2,33,128.98 metric tons  
2023 – 87,819.9 metric tons  
2022 – 84,389.0 metric tons  
2021 – 2,08,874.0 metric tons  
★ In 2024, the months of March and December emerged as the strongest in terms of export volume, with 2,43,278.7 and 1,87,917.1 metric tons exported, respectively.
