Mumbai. Due to better production of pulses in the current year in the world's major producing and exporting countries, its supply and availability situation in the global market has remained smooth, whereas due to weak demand in the leading importing countries,
competition among the exporting countries has increased significantly. To reduce their huge stock, exporting countries have to try to increase sales by reducing prices. Good production of pulses is expected in Russia, Canada, Australia, Africa and Myanmar etc.
Lentil production in Canada has been estimated to increase to 24.50 lakh tonnes this year, which includes the possible production of 14.00-14.50 lakh tonnes of red lentils and 11.50-12.00 lakh tonnes of green lentils.
The production of green lentils is expected to increase by 60 percent. The previous outstanding stock of lentils in Canada has also increased, due to which its total availability will increase even more.
There, preparation for harvesting of lentil crop has reached its final stage and may be completed by the end of the current month.
On the other hand, lentil production in Australia is estimated to increase to a peak of 17.10 lakh tonnes, while the production of Desi gram is expected to reach 21 lakh tonnes, which will be the second highest level till date. Along with this, 2.20 lakh tonnes of peas are expected to be produced there.
Due to increasing competition from Russia-Ukraine, Canada has been forced to drastically reduce the export offer price of its yellow peas, while the huge potential production in Australia has increased the pressure on the global market price of lentils.
Similarly, due to the considerable decrease in the export offer price of new Tuvar goods in African countries, Myanmar is also forced to reduce the price of its product, while there are signs of softening in the prices of Urad due to Brazil.
For October delivery, the export offer price of high quality Urad in Myanmar is $ 860 per ton and in Brazil it is $ 8.75 per ton.
Desi gram offer price in Australia is $550 per tonne, green lentil offer price in Canada is $615 per tonne, tuvar offer price in Malawi is $520 per tonne and in Mozambique it is $535 per tonne.
