Soya's arrival affected due to low prices
★ According to SOPA, the arrival of soya in October and November 2024 was 34 lakh tonnes, which was 40 lakh tonnes during the same period last year.
★ In view of the low prices, farmers stopped selling.
★ According to SOPA, crushing of 19.5 (23.5 last year) lakh tonnes was done in 2 months, on December 1, 101.3 (105.68 last year) lakh tonnes of soya stock remained in the country (with farmers, stockists, traders, oil millers).
★ According to SOPA, last year 118.7 lakh tonnes of soya was consumed, which may be 125.82 lakh tonnes this year.
★ The opening stock was reported to be 24 lakh tonnes in the current season, which may be 8.9 lakh tonnes at the end of the season.
