Soybean Crop Damaged in Three Top Producing States

Indore. A report by the Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) reveals that during the current Kharif season, excess rainfall, prolonged waterlogging,
and flooding have damaged the soybean crop in the three top producing states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, and its condition is very weak in many areas.
According to the SOPA report, the soybean crop has declined in these three states, and natural disasters have also damaged the crop, thus, there is a possibility of a decline in production.
According to the report, 6 percent of the soybean crop in Madhya Pradesh has been completely damaged, while it is in a weak condition in 15 percent of the area, and in 70 percent of the area, the condition is normal. The remaining 9 percent of the area is encouraging.
In Maharashtra, 60% of the soybean crop is in normal condition, 21% is in encouraging condition, while 8% is 100% damaged, and 11% is in poor or poor condition.
In Rajasthan, 10% of the crop is in excellent or encouraging condition, 38% is in normal condition, while 44% is in very poor or poor condition, and the remaining 8% is completely damaged. The percentage of damage in Maharashtra may increase further.
According to SOPA, during the current Kharif season, soybean production area declined to 48.64 lakh hectares in Madhya Pradesh, 48.20 lakh hectares in Maharashtra, and 9.07 lakh hectares in Rajasthan. Nationally, the acreage stood at 115.66 lakh hectares.
