USDA reported a private export sale of 132,000 MT of soybeans to China this morning.
Export Inspections for the week ending December 4 showed soybean shipments at 1.018 MMT (37.41 million bushels), down 41.4% from last year but 10.6% higher than the previous week. Mexico was the largest buyer at 132,050 MT, followed by China at 119,895 MT and Indonesia at 91,171 MT. Marketing year shipments now total 12.9 MMT (473.98 million bushels), down 45.2% from last year.
USDA’s delayed Export Sales report for the week ending November 6 showed soybean bookings at 510,554 MT—near the lower end of expectations (0.45–1.6 MMT) and the lowest of the marketing year. China purchased 232,000 MT that week. Soybean meal sales were 93,483 MT, below the 50,000–400,000 MT expectations range, while soybean oil sales totaled 12,549 MT, within the expected 5,000–25,000 MT range.
WASDE data will be updated on Tuesday. Traders expect U.S. soybean ending stocks at 306 million bushels, up 16 million from last month if realized.
China imported 8.11 MMT of soybeans in November, a 14.5% decline from October. AgRural estimates Brazil’s soybean planting progress at 94%, slightly behind last year’s 95%.
