D4 RIN values have reached their highest levels since late 2022, which is supporting the bean oil market due to increased renewable demand for feedstocks.
The weekly Crop Progress report from NASS showed that by April 19, 12% of the U.S. soybean crop had been planted, which is well above the 5% average pace for this time of year and last year’s 7%. By state, only Iowa, Michigan, and Wisconsin were behind the average planting pace.
There is no major delay in planting at this point, although limited planting is expected in the next 7 days, as 1 to 3 inches of rain are forecast from the Central Plains to the East Coast.
