Sugar Prices Rise in Domestic Market:
★ Sugar prices have increased after the opening of exports.
★ Around 3 lakh tons of sugar export deals have been made so far, with Uttar Pradesh mills contributing 2.3 lakh tons, and mills from Karnataka and other states handling 70 thousand tons.
★ In the Indian market, sugar prices are around ₹4100 per quintal, while exporters are aiming to sell at ₹4500 per quintal.
★ Exports have been made to Sri Lanka, Dubai, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Tanzania, totaling 1.5 lakh tons of sugar.
★ ISMA has estimated sugar production at 272.7 lakh tons, AISATA at 265.2 lakh tons, and NFCSF at 271 lakh tons for this year.
Production is weaker compared to last year.
★ The strengthening of the US Dollar has impacted international sugar prices.
★ If exports continue at this pace, the recent surge in sugar prices may stabilize.
