The government has once again urged retailers to reduce the prices of pulses:
★ It was stated that the prices in the mandis (markets) have decreased by 15-20% for some time, and wholesalers have also reduced their prices, but retailers have not lowered their prices.
★ The agriculture department has set a target of 300 lakh tons for pulse production in 2024-25, which is 23% higher than the 2023-24 target.
★ Due to unfavorable weather conditions in 2023-24, pulse production was limited to 242.4 lakh tons.
★ The government has previously urged retailers multiple times to reduce pulse prices.
