★ Prices in other markets such as Akola, Ganjbasoda, and Lalitpur have also declined in a similar proportion.
★ Mumbai Urad FAQ, which was Rs. 8,950/quintal on 02.07.2024, has dropped to Rs. 6,800/quintal as of 02.07.2025.
★ Chennai Urad FAQ has also seen a price decline.
★ Burmese Urad FAQ, which was $1,055/ton and SQ at $1,145/ton a year ago, has now fallen to $755/ton and $830/ton, respectively.
★ The main reasons for the price decline are rising imports and increased production during the rabi and summer seasons.
★ Production in Myanmar is estimated to be around 1 million tons, and in Brazil, about 100,000 tons.
★ Considering the upcoming festive demand, a slight increase in urad prices is expected.
