वियतनाम में चावल की कीमतों में उछाल
★ अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाजारों में वियतनामी 5% ब्रोकन चावल के भाव 575$/टन पहुंचे, थाईलैंड के चावल से 14% व पाकिस्तान के चावल से 34% अधिक।
★ वियतनामी 25% ब्रोकन राइस के भाव 539$/टन पहुंचे, थाईलैंड से 27% व पाकिस्तान से 22% अधिक।
★ फिलिपीन्स से लगातार बढ़ती डिमांड के कारण निर्यात मांग अच्छी।
★ फिलिपीन्स इस वर्ष 42-45 लाख टन चावल का कर सकता है आयात, जबकि इंडोनेशिया 43 लाख टन।
★ जनवरी से जुलाई तक वियतनाम से 51 लाख टन हुआ चावल का निर्यात, गत वर्ष की समानाअवधि से 25% अधिक।

बासमती चावल की MEP में कटौती की उम्मीद
★ इस समय बासमती चावल के न्यूनतम निर्यात भाव (MEP) 950$/टन हैं।
★ विश्व में चावल की कीमतों में देखी जा रही गिरावट।
★ सभी देशों ने पिछले एक वर्ष में किया अच्छा आयात जिससे उपलब्धता बढ़ी और आयात मांग घटी।
★ सरकार व देश की कई संस्थाओं के बीच MEP घटाने के लिए लम्बे समय से लगातार बातचीत जारी।
★ बासमती चावल की कीमतों पर देखा गया दबाव।
★ बिजाई से पहले व बिजाई के दौरान ऊंची कीमतों को देख बासमती चावल का एरिया बढ़ा।
★ अकेले पंजाब में बिजाई गत वर्ष से 12% उछलकर 6.7 लाख हेक्टेयर पहुंची, उत्पादन गत वर्ष से 10% उछलकर 70 लाख टन पहंचने के उम्मीद।
★ 1 अक्टूबर से शुरू होने वाले नए सीजन में करीब 5 लाख टन का पुराना स्टॉक भी उपलब्ध।
★ MEP लगाए जाने के बाद पाकिस्तान ने 5 लाख टन अतिरिक्त बासमती चावल का किया निर्यात।
★ निर्यातकों की 10 साल की मेहनत हुई थी खराब पाकिस्तान ने बासमती चावल पर 750$/टन की MEP लगा रखी है।
★ वित्त वर्ष 2024 में भारत से 52.4 लाख टन हुआ था बासमती का निर्यात।
★ अप्रैल से मई 2024 तक 9.6 लाख टन बासमती चावल निर्यात किया गया गत वर्ष की समानअवधि से 15% अधिक।
★ नई फसल आने से पहले किसानों को अच्छे भाव दिलाने के लिए निर्यात खोलना जरुरी।
★ वैसे भी केंद्रीय पूल में चावल का अच्छा स्टॉक उपलब्ध।

Rice prices rise in Vietnam
★ Vietnamese 5% broken rice prices reached 575$/ton in international markets, 14% higher than Thai rice and 34% higher than Pakistani rice.
★ Vietnamese 25% broken rice prices reached 539$/ton, 27% higher than Thailand and 22% higher than Pakistan.
★ Export demand is good due to continuously increasing demand from the Philippines.
★ Philippines can import 42-45 lakh tons of rice this year, while Indonesia can import 43 lakh tons.
★ From January to July, 51 lakh tons of rice was exported from Vietnam, 25% more than the same period last year.

Expectation of reduction in MEP of Basmati rice
★ Currently the minimum export price (MEP) of Basmati rice is 950$/ton.
★ Decline in rice prices seen in the world.
★ All countries imported well in the last one year due to which availability increased and import demand decreased.
★ Continuous talks have been going on for a long time between the government and many institutions of the country to reduce MEP.
★ Pressure seen on Basmati rice prices.
★ Area of Basmati rice increased due to high prices before and during sowing.
★ Sowing in Punjab alone jumped 12% from last year to 6.7 lakh hectares, production is expected to jump 10% from last year to 70 lakh tonnes.
★ Old stock of about 5 lakh tonnes is also available in the new season starting from October 1.
★ After imposition of MEP, Pakistan exported 5 lakh tonnes of additional Basmati rice.
★ 10 years of hard work of exporters went waste as Pakistan has imposed MEP of 750$/ton on Basmati rice.
★ In the financial year 2024, 52.4 lakh tons of Basmati was exported from India.
★ From April to May 2024, 9.6 lakh tons of Basmati rice was exported, 15% more than the same period last year.
★ It is necessary to open exports to get good prices to farmers before the new crop arrives.
★ Anyway, a good stock of rice is available in the central pool.
