Weekly Commodity Report (April 14 – April 17, 2025)
This week, the international edible oil and oilseed markets witnessed a mixed trend. Soy oil prices continued to rise steadily, while soymeal and ICE canola showed volatility with some declines. Crude oil also closed on a stronger note.
Soy Oil  
★ Soy oil prices recorded a steady upward trend throughout the week.  
- The May contract rose from 46.32 to close at 47.87.  
- Both July and August contracts also saw consistent gains.
Soymeal  
★ Soymeal prices declined in the initial part of the week, recovered slightly on April 16, but ended the week on a bearish note again.  
- The May contract dropped from 298.4 to 295.6.
Soybean  
★ Soybean prices also saw a downward trend.  
- The May futures fell from 1045 to close at 1036.4.  
- The July and August contracts showed slight weakness as well.
ICE Canola  
★ ICE Canola experienced a mid-week rise but ended lower on Friday.  
- The May contract opened at 656.5 and closed at 667.90, though it dropped by 5.90 on the final trading day.
Crude Oil (NYMEX)  
★ Crude oil prices showed solid gains throughout the week.  
- The May futures climbed from 61.64 to close at 64.88.
USD/INR Exchange Rate  
★ The exchange rate remained stable at ₹85.59 throughout the week.
