Gram prices continue to fluctuate as buying remains sluggish
New Delhi. During the current week, due to lack of support from consumers at higher prices, the prices of gram declined. Due to sluggish demand for gram dal and gram flour, the buying of gram by millers remained limited, due to which pressure was seen on prices. Farmers are selling gram at a slow pace. Due to which there is no pressure of arrival in the producing markets. Looking at the reasons, there is no possibility of much decline in the prices of gram at the moment. Due to sluggish buying by dal millers, the prices of Delhi gram witnessed a fluctuation of Rs 50/75 per quintal during the current week and the prices remained at Madhya Pradesh line Rs 5700/5725 and Rajasthan line Rs 5800/5825 per quintal at the end of the week.
Port
Due to increased selling by importers and weak buying, the prices of imported gram declined by Rs. 50 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices remained at Tanzania Rs. 5700, Nava Seva Australia Rs. 5900 and Mundra Rs. 5750 per quintal at the end of the week.
Rajasthan
Due to sluggish demand from dal millers and stockists, the prices of Rajasthan gram declined by Rs. 50/100 per quintal this week and with this decline, the prices remained at Jodhpur Rs. 4800/5300, Jaipur Rs. 5825, Bikaner Rs. 5460/5600, Kishangarh Rs. 5290/5350 and Kota Rs. 4800/5430 per quintal at the end of the week.
Maharashtra
Due to increased selling pressure and sluggish demand, Maharashtra gram prices declined by Rs 25/50 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the weekend prices remained at Solapur Rs 5900/6150, Akola Rs 6050/6100, Nagpur Rs 6050, Udgir Rs 5600/5800 and Ahmednagar Rs 5700/5900 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to increased selling and weak buying, Madhya Pradesh gram prices registered a rise and fall of Rs 50/100 per quintal this week and with this rise and fall, the weekend prices remained at Ashoknagar Rs 5700/5850, Ganjbasoda Rs 5500/5700, Sagar Rs 5500/5750, Katni Rs 5900/5950 and Indore Rs 5900/6150 per quintal.
Others
Due to sluggish buying and selling, Raipur gram prices fell by 50/75 rupees per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the price remained at 6000/6225 rupees per quintal at the weekend. Whereas Kanpur gram fell by 50 rupees per quintal this week and remained at 6000 rupees per quintal at the weekend.
Gram dal
Due to the impact of fall in gram and sluggish demand, gram dal prices fell by 50/100 rupees per quintal during the current week and the price remained at Delhi 6850/7175 rupees, Bhatapara 7150 rupees, Katni 7325 rupees, Gulbarga 6900/7100 rupees, Jalgaon 7250 rupees, Indore 7000/7250 rupees, Jaipur 6825 rupees and Kanpur 7000/7100 rupees per quintal.
