Gram prices continue to fall, weak demand and import pressure are the reason
New Delhi. The trend of decline in gram prices has continued during the current week. Gram prices in major markets remain low due to weak consumer demand and increasing import pressure. The buying of dal millers has also become limited, which has created a more bearish environment in the market. Due to lack of expected uptake in gram dal, millers are currently avoiding big purchases. Demand is also sluggish at the retail level and no significant increase is being seen in the consumption of pulses. This has put pressure on gram prices. Pressure is also being seen on prices in the international market. Gram deals are being made at low rates for the coming months from countries like Australia and Tanzania, due to which the attitude of buyers in the Indian market also remains weak. Due to sluggish demand from dal millers, prices of Delhi gram declined by Rs. 60 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices remained at Madhya Pradesh line Rs. 5975/6000 and Rajasthan line Rs. 6050 per quintal at the weekend.
