Mixed Price Trends Amidst Uneven Trading
New Delhi: Sowing of the Kharif groundnut crop has largely concluded, with the acreage remaining comparable to last year. Crop conditions are reported to vary—ranging from good to average and, in some areas, weak.
Groundnut
During the week of September 12–18, groundnut prices remained steady at ₹7,000–9,000 per quintal in Rajkot (Gujarat) and ₹7,300 per quintal in Bikaner (Rajasthan), but fell by ₹200 to ₹9,300 per quintal in Solapur (Maharashtra). Significant volatility was observed in Uttar Pradesh markets; prices surged by ₹800 to reach ₹6,000–7,000 per quintal in Jhansi, whereas they dropped by ₹800 to settle at ₹5,600–6,000 per quintal in Mahoba.
Groundnut Kernels
Demand from crushers, processors, and exporters for shelled groundnut kernels remained weak, causing prices to drop by ₹400 per quintal in Solapur. However, a rise of ₹100 was noted in Nagpur.
Groundnut Oil
Prices for loose groundnut oil rose by ₹25 per 10 kg in Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh, and Jamnagar, while the price of a 15-liter tin dropped by ₹30. Prices also remained soft in Ahmedabad.
Branded Oil
The price of branded groundnut oil in Kota remained steady at ₹2,950 per tin (15 liters) due to limited trading activity. A similar trend was observed for filtered groundnut oil in Jaipur and Newai, where prices remained stable amidst sluggish trading.
Groundnut DOC
A fluctuation of ₹500 per tonne was observed in the price of groundnut DOC.
