Weekly Review: Moong Prices

Overview:
Moong prices have shown both bullish and bearish trends over the week, primarily due to limited demand. Despite adequate stock in producing markets, the sluggish buying activity from dal millers and stockists led to stable prices in some regions, while others witnessed small declines.

New Delhi: The prices of Moong in Delhi remained stable due to lack of strong demand. The price hovered between Rs. 7000 to Rs. 7500 per quintal by the weekend, with no major fluctuations noted.

Rajasthan: In Rajasthan, the prices of Moong faced a slight decline, down by Rs. 100-200 per quintal. Prices in various mandis are as follows:

  • Jodhpur: Rs. 6000-7200
  • Jaipur: Rs. 6500-7200
  • Sumerpur: Rs. 5500-7200
  • Nagaur: Rs. 7100-7800
  • Merta: Rs. 6000-7700
  • Kishangarh: Rs. 5000-7000
The price fall is attributed to low availability and weak customer demand.

  • Pipariya: Rs. 6000-8150
  • Indore: Rs. 7500-8100
  • Kareli: Rs. 6100-7200
  • Jabalpur: Rs. 6500-7600
Overall, no significant changes were seen in the market.

Other Markets (Lalitpur): In Lalitpur, Moong prices declined by Rs. 100 per quintal, bringing the price range to Rs. 5800-6300 by the end of the week, following a general weakening trend in demand.

Conclusion:

Prices have remained largely unchanged or have seen minor declines, especially in regions like Rajasthan and Karnataka. The Moong dal market also reflects this lack of activity with stable prices across major markets.
