Moong prices rise due to weak selling
New Delhi. Moong prices strengthened during the current week. Selling by farmers and stockists weakened at reduced prices, while on the other hand, the market remained bullish due to improved demand. Prices strengthened due to improved demand at domestic and wholesale level. Due to weak selling and increased buying by dal millers, Delhi moong prices increased by Rs 100 per quintal during the current week and with this increase, the prices became Madhya Pradesh line Rs 7200/7300 and Uttar Pradesh line Rs 7200/7500 per quintal.
Rajasthan
Due to increased selling and limited buying, there was no increase or decrease in the price of moong in the markets of Rajasthan during the current week and the weekend prices were Jodhpur Rs. 6100/7050, Jaipur Rs. 6750/7200, Nagaur Rs. 6300/6800, Merta Rs. 6500/7000 and Kishangarh Rs. 5000/6800 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to the start of government procurement, a decline was observed in the arrival of moong in the producing markets of Madhya Pradesh. Due to weak arrival and better demand, the prices of Madhya Pradesh moong have increased by Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and the prices at the weekend became Pipariya Rs. 5500/7300, Indore Rs. 6500/7200, Jabalpur Rs. 5000/7300, Harda Rs. 6000/7900 and Khirkiya Rs. 7000/7500 per quintal.
Maharashtra
Due to increase in buying, the prices of Maharashtra moong have increased by Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and the prices at the weekend became Latur Rs. 6000/7500, Akola Rs. 6350/8850, Barshi Rs. 6000/7000, Ahmednagar Rs. 5600/7000, Jalgaon Rs. 6000/7350 and Khamgaon Rs. 5000/6300 per quintal.
Others
Due to sluggish buying, there was no increase or decrease in the prices of moong in Uttar Pradesh during the current week and the prices remained stable at Lalitpur Rs. 6800/7100, Konch Rs. 6316/6700 and Jalaun Rs. 6000/6300 per quintal at the end of the week.
Moong Dal
Due to sluggish demand, there was a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal in the prices of moong dal during the last week and the prices remained at Delhi Rs. 8600/11400, Jodhpur Rs. 8700/9400, Jaipur Rs. 8200/8800, Bhatapara Rs. 8900/9500, Jalgaon Rs. 9200/9500 and Indore Rs. 8600/9600 per quintal.
