Limited softening in mustard due to moderate trading at high prices
New Delhi. Due to almost normal arrival in the markets but moderate demand and lifting, mustard prices saw a softening of Rs 50-100 per quintal in the week of 6-12 September. Sowing of the most important oilseed crop of Rabi season may gain momentum in October-November. Due to attractive income to farmers from high market prices, their enthusiasm in mustard cultivation is likely to increase this year, due to which the next production may be better.
42% condition mustard
However, during the week under review, the price of 42 percent condition mustard remained at the previous level of Rs 7100 per quintal in Delhi and Rs 7300/7325 per quintal in Jaipur.
Mustard
The price of normal average quality mustard remained either soft or stable in Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. In some markets, mustard prices also rose by 25-50 rupees. In Bikaner, mustard prices fell by 262 rupees to 6000/6400 rupees and in Bundi, it fell by 100 rupees to 6200/6500 rupees per quintal, but in Kota, it rose by 100 rupees to 6300/6700 rupees per quintal. There was a decline of 50 rupees in the markets of Madhya Pradesh.
Mustard oil
Like mustard, its oil prices also generally fell by 2-3 rupees per kg, but in Delhi, the price of expeller improved by 10 rupees to reach 1535 rupees per 10 kg. Charkhi Dadri also strengthened by 10 rupees. On the other hand, mustard oil prices softened in other centers including Morena, Bharatpur and Hapur. In Kota, the price of Kachi Ghani mustard oil increased by Rs 41 to Rs 1631 per 10 kg, while the price of expeller was down by Rs 5.
Mustard Cake (DOC)
The prices of mustard cake and DOC improved due to better business. The price of mustard cake increased by Rs 160-200 per quintal in Delhi and the price of mustard DOC increased by Rs 700 per tonne in a plant in Kota and Rs 500 per tonne in a unit in Kanpur to reach Rs 16,800 and Rs 17000 per tonne respectively.
