Peanut prices improve due to slight demand in Uttar Pradesh
New Delhi. Although 5 to 8 thousand bags of peanuts arrived daily in Rajkot Mandi of Gujarat during the week of 17-23 May, but due to normal business, its price remained stable at Rs 5000/6000 per quintal.
Rajasthan
In Bikaner of Rajasthan also, no change was seen in the price of peanuts at the level of Rs 5200 per quintal, but in Solapur of Maharashtra, the price fell by Rs 400 to Rs 6300 per quintal.
Uttar Pradesh
In Jhansi, Mahoba and Mauranipur in Uttar Pradesh, due to slight demand at lower prices, the price of peanuts improved by Rs 100-200 per quintal. In these mandis, the daily arrival of peanuts was recorded between 1000 to 3000 bags.
Peanut seeds
The demand of traders, millers and exporters for peeled peanut seeds remained weak due to which there was no major change in its prices. In Bikaner and Jaipur of Rajasthan, the price remained stable at the previous level, but in Nagpur of Maharashtra, the price of 50/60 count seeds fell by Rs 300 to Rs 10200 per quintal and the price of 60/70 count seeds fell by Rs 400 to Rs 9300 per quintal. In other markets including Solapur, the business remained sluggish and the prices remained stable.
Peanut oil
The demand for peanut oil in loose form remained strong. As a result, its price increased by Rs 25 to Rs 1375 per 10 kg in Rajkot Gondal, Jangarh and Jamnagar of Gujarat. An increase was also recorded in other centers. The price of branded peanut oil remained slightly weak in one unit of Kota, while not much business could be done in filtered oil.
Peanut DOC
Prices of peanut oil cake and DOC remained almost stable with limited trading. DOC witnessed a fluctuation of Rs 250 at some places. NAFED is selling its stock of peanuts.
