Pea prices soften due to sluggish demand
Kanpur. Pea prices fluctuated during the current week due to sluggish buying and selling. Buying of peas remained calm due to availability in the producing markets and ports. Due to this, not much variation is seen in the prices. Due to sluggish buying, no rise or fall was seen in the prices of imported peas this week and the prices remained Mumbai Canada 3700 rupees, Russia 3575/3600 rupees and currency Canada 3575/3600 rupees and Russia 3475 rupees per quintal at the weekend. Due to sporadic buying, Kanpur pea prices registered a slight improvement of 25 rupees per quintal this week and the prices reached 3725 rupees per quintal at the weekend. While Lalitpur peas registered a decline of Rs 100/150 per quintal this week and with this decline the price remained at Rs 3175/3400 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Rath peas also witnessed a decline of Rs 50 per quintal this week and the price remained at Rs 3200/3700 per quintal at the weekend. Mauranipur peas also declined by Rs 35 per quintal and remained at Rs 3300/3415 per quintal at the weekend due to weak buying. Due to sluggish buying and selling, there was no rise or fall in Orai peas this week and the price remained at Rs 3300/3460 per quintal at the weekend. Due to the impact of all-round decline and weak buying, the prices of Madhya Pradesh peas declined by Rs 25/50 per quintal this week and the price remained at Rs 3300/3400 for Damoh and Rs 3250/3375 per quintal for Bina at the weekend.

Due to sluggish demand, there was no increase or decrease in the prices of peas dal during the current week and the prices remained at Rs. 4100/4150 in Kanpur and Rs. 4200/4350 per quintal in Indore at the end of the week.
