Red chilli prices soften due to reduced demand at high prices
New Delhi. Currently, the prices of red chilli are being quoted softly due to limited buying by exporters. It is worth mentioning that the demand is getting affected after the price of red chilli has increased by 10/12 rupees per kg in the last one month. It is worth mentioning that I Grain India had written in its 9th August issue that if the buying by exporters increases, the price of red chilli may increase by 8/10 rupees per kg. At that time, the price of red chilli Teja in Guntur market was 138/140 rupees per kg. Which had become 152/153 rupees per kg at the beginning of the current month, whereas due to the demand being affected, the prices are currently being quoted at 146/148 rupees.
Less sowing
Informed sources say that due to the producers not getting the right price for their produce, there are reports of 30/35 percent less area of sowing of red chilli in the country in the second year as well. Sowing work is complete at the production centers. It has been done. According to the information received, new red chilli will be launched in Madhya Pradesh by the end of the current month. While the pressure of arrival will be built in the month of October. This year, sowing has been done on 30/40 percent less area in Madhya Pradesh, while there are reports of 30/35 percent reduction in sowing in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Yield
Due to the decrease in sowing area, the production of red chilli is expected to be less in the second year as well. It is worth mentioning that in the year 2023, the production of red chilli in Madhya Pradesh was 40/42 lakh bags, which has come down to 30/32 lakh bags in the year 2024. The condition of the crop is good in Madhya Pradesh so far. Due to which the quality is being estimated to be good. But due to reduced sowing, there will definitely be a decline in production. During the current season, production was also low in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The crop coming in the month of January-February is also expected to be less than last year. Because sowing has been less.
Stock
Informed sources say that at present most of the stock at the production centers is of low quality. Therefore, there is no possibility of much slowdown in the prices of deluxe goods. At present, the stock of red chilli in the markets of Andhra Pradesh is believed to be 60/70 lakh bags. Whereas the stock in the markets of Telangana is being estimated to be 35/40 lakh bags.
Slow-fast
Informed sources say that there is no possibility of much slowdown or rise in prices in the near future. The prices will keep moving between 3/5 rupees per kg slow-fast. Because in the coming month, the arrival of new goods will start in the markets of Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, the stock in the markets is also sufficient. In January-February, the arrival of new goods will also start in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
