Soybean prices show a mixed trend in response to buying from crushing units
New Delhi. Based on demand and buying from crushing and processing units, the plant delivery price of soybean improved slightly in Madhya Pradesh during the week of September 13-19, but softened in Maharashtra, and remained almost stable in Rajasthan.
Sowing
Incidentally, the soybean acreage has declined this year in these three top producing states. Reports of crop damage due to excess rainfall, waterlogging, and floods are also emerging, raising fears of a decline in production. However, this is not having any psychological impact on the market. Sporadic arrivals of the new crop have already begun in some places.
Plant Delivery Prices
During the period under review, the plant delivery price of soybean was recorded at Rs. 4400/4600 per quintal, well below the government support price. It is worth noting that the government has increased the minimum support price of soybean from Rs. 4,892 per quintal for the 2024-25 season to Rs. 5,328 per quintal for the 2025-26 season.
Soybean Oil (Refined)
However, the fluctuations in soybean prices did not significantly impact the price of refined soybean oil, and it remained fairly stable. Soybean oil prices are also remaining somewhat soft internationally. Soybean refined oil prices improved by Rs. 5 each in Kota and Mumbai, and Rs. 3 per 10 kg in Haldia, while prices remained stable in Kandla.
Soybean Meal (DOC)
As for soybean DOC, its trading volume decreased in Madhya Pradesh, and prices remained stable. However, due to weak demand in Maharashtra, prices declined by Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,500 per tonne. Prices remained soft in Rajasthan as well.
