Tuvar prices continue to fall due to lack of demand

Mumbai. During the current week, Tuvar prices witnessed a continuous decline. There is selling pressure in the market, while due to sluggish demand, prices could not get any solid support. Buying from stockists and dal millers remained limited, due to which there is a continuous pressure on Tuvar prices. Traders say that at present no special increase is being seen in wholesale demand, due to which the possibility of improvement in prices in the coming days also looks weak. Due to increased selling by importers and sluggish demand, Chennai Tuvar Lemon witnessed a decline of Rs 150 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the price of lemon remained at Rs 6450 per quintal. Similarly, Mumbai African Tuvar prices witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/150 per quintal this week and at the end of the week, the prices remained at Rs. 6500 for Mozambique white, Rs. 6275/6300 for Gajari, Rs. 6250 for Malawi and Rs. 6200 for Dodomo.
Burma
Due to increased selling by exporters and weak buying, the prices of Burma Tuvar witnessed a decline of $15 per ton this week and with this decline, the prices remained at $765 per ton at the end of the week.
Delhi
Due to the impact of port decline and sluggish demand, during the current week, Delhi Tuvar Lemon witnessed a decline of Rs. 200 per quintal and Desi Tuvar also witnessed a decline of Rs. 100 per quintal and with this decline, the prices remained at Rs. 6900 for lemon and Rs. 7150/7250 per quintal for Desi at the end of the week.
Maharashtra
Due to increase in selling and slow buying, Tuvar prices witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices remained at Solapur Rs. 6500/7050, Akola Rs. 7050/7250, Nagpur Rs. 7100/7125 and Dudhni Rs. 6500/7050 per quintal.
Karnataka
Due to increase in selling and slow buying, Tuvar prices in Karnataka witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices remained at Gulbarga Rs. 6300/7229, Raichur Rs. 6382/6989, Yadgir Rs. 6587/6990 and Talikot Rs. 6532/7032 per quintal during the weekend.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to weak buying by dal millers, prices of Madhya Pradesh tuvar declined by Rs. 100/200 per quintal this week and with this decline, the prices remained at Katni Rs. 6950/7150, Jabalpur Rs. 5000/6600 and Pipariya Rs. 5500/6800 per quintal at the weekend.
Others
Due to the impact of all-round decline and weak buying, Raipur tuvar witnessed a decline of Rs. 200/250 per quintal this week and the prices remained at Rs. 7150/7300 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, prices of Kanpur tuvar witnessed a decline of Rs. 200/250 per quintal this week and the prices remained at Rs. 7000/7050 per quintal at the weekend.
Tuvar Dal
Due to the fall in the price of Tuvar and weak demand, the prices of Tuvar Dal have fallen by Rs. 200/300 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend stood at Delhi Fatka Rs. 10500/10850, Katni Fatka Rs. 9650/10200, Akola Rs. 9800/11200, Latur Fatka Rs. 10400/10600, Gulbarga Fatka Rs. 9800/10400 and Kanpur Fatka Rs. 11600/11700 per quintal.
