Tuvar prices rise due to improved demand
Mumbai. Tuvar prices increased during the current week. The availability of tuvar in major producing markets has started weakening, while the purchase of dal millers is gradually improving. Which supported the rising prices. However, the demand for tuvar dal remains weak at the consumer level. Due to which the increased prices are not getting solid support. Due to which pressure was seen on prices during the weekend. Due to weakening of importers' selling and increase in demand, the price of Tuvar Lemon in Chennai registered a rise of Rs 175 per quintal this week and with this rise, the price reached Rs 6375 per quintal during the weekend. While, there was no rise or fall in the prices of Mumbai African Tuvar this week and the prices remained stable at Mozambique white Rs. 6000, Gajari Rs. 5750/5800, Matwara Rs. 5700/5750, Malawi Rs. 5600 and Sudan Rs. 6450 per quintal at the end of the week.
Burma
Due to slow selling by exporters and increased buying, the prices of Burma Tuvar registered a rise of $35 per ton this week and with this increase, the price rose to $735 per ton at the end of the week.
Delhi
Due to weak availability and support from the rise in the port, Delhi Tuvar Lemon saw a rise of Rs. 125 per quintal and Desi Tuvar also saw a rise of Rs. 125 per quintal during the current week and with this increase, the prices rose to Rs. 6850 for lemon and Desi Rs. 7025/7125 per quintal at the end of the week.
Maharashtra
Due to weak availability in producer markets and increased buying, Maharashtra tuvar prices witnessed a rise of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this increase, the prices remained at Solapur Rs. 5800/6850, Akola Rs. 7000, Latur Rs. 6700/6730, Nagpur Rs. 7000 and Hinganghat Rs. 6500/7050 per quintal.
Karnataka
Due to increase in buying, Karnataka tuvar prices witnessed a rise of Rs. 100/150 per quintal during the current week and with this increase, the prices remained at Gulbarga Rs. 6500/7000, Raichur Rs. 6012/6629, Bidar Rs. 5289/6925, Yadgir Rs. 6100/6679 and Talikot Rs. 6205/6625 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to increased buying by dal millers, Madhya Pradesh tuvar prices improved by Rs. 100 per quintal this week and with this improvement, the prices at the weekend became Katni Rs. 6850/6950, Jabalpur Rs. 5000/6400 and Pipariya Rs. 5200/6350 per quintal.
Others
Due to the impact of all-round bullish support and increased buying, Raipur tuvar prices increased by Rs. 100 per quintal this week and reached Rs. 6900/7000 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Kanpur tuvar prices increased by Rs. 100 per quintal this week and reached Rs. 6700/6750 per quintal at the weekend.
Tuvar Dal
Due to sluggish demand, the prices of Tuvar Dal witnessed a fluctuation of Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and with this fluctuation, the prices at the weekend stood at Delhi Fatka Rs. 9925/10325, Katni Fatka Rs. 9200/9750, Akola Rs. 9400/10800, Latur Fatka Rs. 10300/10500, Gulbarga Fatka Rs. 9600/10400 and Kanpur Fatka Rs. 10700/10800 per quintal.
