Purchasing remains sluggish, Tuvar prices continue to fall
Mumbai. Due to lack of customers, Tuvar buying remains sluggish, due to which Tuvar prices have declined during the current week as well. Due to favorable weather, a good increase in the area of Tuvar sowing has been recorded in the country this year. According to government data, Tuvar sowing was done in 44.57 lakh hectares in the country on 12th August, which is 6.08 lakh hectares more than the same period last year. Due to increased selling pressure, Mumbai African Tuvar registered a decline of Rs 100 per quintal this week and with the decline, the prices remained at Mozambique White Rs 9300/9400, Gajari Rs 9200/9300, Malawi Rs 9100 and Sudan Rs 10900/10950 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Chennai Tuvar Lemon also declined by Rs. 150 per quintal this week and remained at Rs. 10200/10250 per quintal at the weekend.
Burma
Due to weak export demand, a decline of 30 dollars per tonne was recorded in Burma Tuvar this week and with this decline, the price remained at 1220 dollars per tonne at the weekend.
Delhi
Due to sluggish demand due to the fall in port prices, a decline of Rs. 100 was witnessed in Delhi Tuvar Lemon and Rs. 100 per quintal in Desi Tuvar as well during the current week and with this decline, the price of Lemon remained at Rs. 10700, Maharashtra line at Rs. 10900 and Karnataka line at Rs. 11100 per quintal at the weekend.
Maharashtra
Due to sluggish demand, Maharashtra Tuvar prices witnessed a rise and fall of Rs. 100/200 per quintal this week and the prices at the weekend remained at Solapur Rs. 10700/11400, Akola Rs. 11300/11650, Nagpur Rs. 11500/11650, Hinganghat Rs. 9500/10700 and Ahmednagar Rs. 10700/10900 per quintal.
Karnataka
Due to sluggish demand from dal millers, Karnataka Tuvar prices witnessed a fall of Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend remained at Gulbarga Rs. 11000/11456, Raichur Rs. 10026/10460, Yadgir Rs. 10400/10800 and Talikot Rs. 10609 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to increased selling and sluggish buying, prices of Madhya Pradesh tuvar witnessed a fluctuation of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this fluctuation, the prices remained at Katni Rs. 11600/11700, Jabalpur Rs. 8000/10200, Pipariya Rs. 8500/10900 and Kareli Rs. 8500/9800 per quintal at the weekend.
Others
Due to the impact of all-round decline and weak buying, Raipur tuvar declined by Rs. 100 per quintal and remained at Rs. 11500/11800 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Kanpur tuvar also declined by Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and remained at Rs. 10200 per quintal at the weekend.
Tuvar Dal
Due to the fall in prices of Tuvar and calm demand, Tuvar Dal prices have fallen by Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend stood at Delhi Fatka Rs. 15650/16200, Katni Fatka Rs. 15000/15200, Akola Rs. 15100/16900, Latur Fatka Rs. 16200/16400, Gulbarga Fatka Rs. 15300/16000 and Kanpur Fatka Rs. 15600/16000 per quintal.
