Urad buying weak due to lack of buyers
Chennai
Urad prices in Chennai dropped due to weak buying and selling pressure. With sluggish demand for both Urad Dal and Urad Gota, dal millers were less active in purchasing, contributing to the price decline. This week, Urad prices fell by Rs. 50 per 100 kg. At the end of the week, the prices were as follows:
- FAQ: Rs. 7950 per quintal
- Best Quality (BQ): Rs. 8900 per quintal
Kolkata
Similar to Chennai, Urad prices in Kolkata also saw a decline of Rs. 100 per quintal. By the weekend, prices were:
- FAQ: Rs. 8200 per quintal
Burma
In Burma, the weak export demand led to a decline in Urad prices. The prices for Urad were as follows:
- FAQ: $915 per tonne (down by $20)
- SQ: $1015 per tonne (down by $15)
Delhi
Urad prices in Delhi dropped by Rs. 50 per 100 kg due to low demand at the ports and muted buying from dal millers. The prices remained:
- FAQ: Rs. 8350 per quintal
- SQ: Rs. 9300 per quintal
Madhya Pradesh
In Madhya Pradesh, prices remained relatively stable with minimal movement due to limited buying and selling activity. Prices at various locations were:
- Ashoknagar: Rs. 5500/7300 per quintal
- Jabalpur: Rs. 5000/7800 per quintal
- Damoh: Rs. 5400/7700 per quintal
- Indore: Rs. 7500/8200 per quintal
Maharashtra
Maharashtra witnessed a fluctuation of Rs. 50 per 100 kg in Urad prices this week, with slight rises and falls. Prices in different cities were:
- Akola: Rs. 8400 per quintal
- Latur: Rs. 5000/8150 per quintal
- Solapur: Rs. 6100/8300 per quintal
- Dudhni: Rs. 7000/8500 per quintal
- Ahmednagar: Rs. 5500/7500 per quintal
Other Regions
In Krishna district and Vijayawada, the lack of customer demand led to a fall of Rs. 100 per quintal. The prices in these regions were:
- Krishna district: Rs. 8400 per quintal
- Vijayawada: Rs. 8500 per quintal
Urad Dal
Due to weak demand, Urad Dal prices also declined by Rs. 100-200 per quintal. The prices for Urad Dal in various regions were:

- Bhatapara: Rs. 10600 per quintal
- Jalgaon: Rs. 11200 per quintal
- Meerut: Rs. 9200/9700 per quintal
