Urad prices continue to fluctuate as demand remains limited
Chennai. During the current week, urad prices witnessed a fluctuating trend. Demand in the market remained limited, due to which prices could not rise steadily. Due to lack of expected improvement in the consumption of urad dal, purchases by dal millers also remained limited. There was a lack of demand in the market, which kept pressure on prices. Due to weakening of importers' selling and improvement in demand, Chennai urad prices registered an improvement of Rs 50/100 per quintal this week and with this improvement, the price of FAQ became Rs 6700/6725 and the price of SQ urad became Rs 7350/7375 per quintal. Similarly, in Mumbai market also, urad prices saw an increase of Rs 125 per quintal this week and with this increase, the price reached Rs 6825 per quintal at the weekend.
Burma
Due to weakening of selling by exporters and increased buying, Burma Urad FAQ witnessed a rise of $ 10 and SQ witnessed a rise of $ 15 per tonne during the current week and with this increase, the price of FAQ reached $ 760 per tonne and SQ reached $ 835 per tonne at the weekend.
Delhi
Due to the support of the rise in the port prices and increased buying by the dal millers, the price of Urad in Delhi registered a rise of Rs 100 per quintal this week. And with this rise, the price remained at Rs 7100 per quintal for FAQ and Rs 7800 per quintal for SQ at the weekend.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to increased selling and sluggish buying, prices of Urad in Madhya Pradesh witnessed a rise or fall of Rs. 50/100 per quintal during the current week. With this rise and fall, the prices remained at Rs. 5000/6600 in Jabalpur, Rs. 5000/6225 in Kareli, Rs. 3500/6000 in Ganjbasoda and Rs. 7000/7200 per quintal in Indore at the weekend.
Maharashtra
Due to sluggish demand from dal millers, there was no rise or fall in the prices of Urad in Maharashtra this week. And at the weekend, the prices remained at Rs. 7100 in Akola, Rs. 6000/7000 in Latur, Rs. 6800/6950 in Jalgaon, Rs. 5000/6700 in Barshi and Rs. 4500/6200 per quintal in Ahmednagar.
Others
Due to sluggish demand, the price of Urad Dal witnessed a fluctuation of Rs. 50/75 per quintal in Krishna District and Vijayawada and at the weekend the price was Rs. 7071 in Krishna District and Rs. 7000/7100 per quintal in Vijayawada. Whereas the price of Kota Urad Dal increased by Rs. 100 per quintal this week and reached Rs. 4000/6400 per quintal at the weekend.
Urad Dal
Due to sluggish demand, the price of Urad Dal witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/150 per quintal this week and at the weekend the price was Rs. 8800/10600 in Delhi, Rs. 8800/9100 in Bhatapara, Rs. 9700 in Jalgaon, Rs. 7200/8200 in Meerut and Rs. 9000/12000 per quintal in Indore.
