According to the U.S. FAS weekly Export Sales report, old-crop wheat sales totaled 95,094 MT during the final four days of the 2025/26 marketing year. In addition, 298,570 MT of unshipped sales were carried forward into the new marketing year.
New-crop wheat sales reached 666,259 MT, exceeding trade expectations. Mexico purchased 143,100 MT, Taiwan bought 118,500 MT, and the Philippines purchased 116,900 MT.
The monthly Crop Production report estimated winter wheat production at 1.029 billion bushels, down 18 million bushels from last month. Average yield was reduced by 0.8 bushels per acre to 46.8 bushels per acre.
In the WASDE report, U.S. old-crop wheat stocks remained unchanged at 935 million bushels, while new-crop ending stocks were reduced by 18 million bushels to 744 million bushels due to lower production.
Global wheat ending stocks for 2025/26 increased by 0.74 MMT to 279.95 MMT, while new-crop stocks rose by 0.38 MMT to 275.42 MMT.
Australia’s wheat production estimate was reduced by 2 MMT to 28 MMT, while Russia’s production was increased by 2 MMT to 88 MMT. Expana estimates European Union wheat production at 129.2 MMT.
