Commitment of Traders data showed that money managers increased their net short position in CBT wheat by 1,633 contracts to 7,266 contracts. Meanwhile, in KC wheat futures and options, speculators added 1,316 contracts, raising their net long to 16,924 contracts.
Export Sales data released Thursday shows total commitments for old crop wheat at 24.54 MMT, slightly above the USDA projection and in line with the 102% average pace. Shipments are at 20.69 MMT, which is 84% of the USDA estimate and matches the average shipping pace.
In France, the soft wheat crop is rated 84% good to excellent, unchanged from the previous week, while durum wheat is rated 81% good to excellent.
According to NOAA forecasts, little to no precipitation is expected across much of western Kansas through the Texas Panhandle over the next week. However, rainfall is المتوقع in parts of eastern Kansas, Illinois, and Indiana over the next few days.
