Maharashtra Sees Strong Cotton Procurement at MSP 

Key Highlights:

• 44 lakh quintals of cotton procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP) in Maharashtra.
• Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) purchased the cotton till March 18, 2025.
• 124 purchase centers across the state are operational.
• MSP rates for 2024-25 season:
  • Medium fiber cotton: ₹7,121/quintal
  • Long fiber cotton: ₹7,521/quintal

Additional Procurements in Maharashtra:

• Soybean: 11.21 lakh tonnes procured at MSP.
• Efforts underway to procure tuvar, moong, urad, and gram.

National Cotton Procurement:

• CCI has purchased over 100 lakh bales (170 kg each) across India.
• Highest procurement in Telangana & Maharashtra.
• Cotton sales from buffer stock have begun.
