Argentina's Soymeal Exports Decline by 33% in February

Buenos Aires. Total soymeal exports from the Latin American nation of Argentina stood at 1.33 million tonnes in February 2026. This figure represents a 33% decline compared to the 2.01 million tonnes shipped in January 2026, and a 27% decrease relative to the 1.82 million tonnes exported in February 2025.

According to data from *Oil World*—a world-renowned newsletter covering the oilseeds and oils sector, published in Hamburg, Germany—Argentina's soymeal exports to the European Union dropped to 270,000 tonnes during February 2026.

This marks a decline from the 460,000 tonnes exported in January 2026 and the 340,000 tonnes exported in February 2025. Similarly, exports to Asian nations slumped to 580,000 tonnes in February 2026—significantly lower than the 1 million tonnes shipped in January 2026 and the 840,000 tonnes exported in February 2025.

Within the Asian region, however, exports to Indonesia and Turkey witnessed an increase. Overall, Argentina exported 10.87 million tonnes of soymeal during the 2025-26 marketing season, whereas shipments totaled 11.78 million tonnes during the 2024-25 marketing season. Argentina remains the world's leading exporter of soymeal.
