African and Vietnam Cashew Production and Exports
Mozambique
★ In 2023, cashew exports reached a record 195,400 tonnes — the highest in 50 years.
★ With a 26% increase in cultivated area, production in 2024 is expected to rise 23% to 218,900 tonnes.
★ Export earnings rose from US\$57.3 million in 2023 to US\$98.2 million in 2024.

Ivory Coast
★ Cashew production forecast for 2025 has been raised to 1.3 million tonnes, up from 1.15 million tonnes.
★ Vietnam has purchased only 200,000 tonnes of raw cashews in 2025, down from 700,000–800,000 tonnes in 2024.
★ Exports have been affected by U.S. tariff threats and a weakening dollar.
★ Cashew prices have dropped from 425 CFA to 200 CFA per kg.
★ Around 200,000 tonnes of unsold cashew stock remains in the country.
★ Local buyers have purchased 650,000 tonnes so far in 2025 — double the volume from last year.
