Argentina's Sunflower Comeback in 2025
★ Argentina’s sunflower production is expected to rise sharply this year, reaching up to 4.85 million tonnes — significantly higher than last year’s 3.84 million tonnes.
★ Processing (crushing) is also set to increase, with 2025 estimates at 4.32 million tonnes, up from 3.78 million tonnes in 2024.
★ In June alone, crushing reached 489,000 tonnes — much higher than the 357,000 tonnes recorded in the same month last year.
★ From July to December, crushing is projected to touch 2.08 million tonnes, marking a year-on-year increase of 300,000 tonnes.
★ The higher processing volume is likely to boost sunflower oil output by about 140,000 tonnes and sunflower meal output by around 120,000 tonnes.
