Australia – Latest Status of Pulse Crops
★ Chickpea, faba bean, and lentil crops in Australia are developing under mixed conditions—ranging from good to excellent in the northern regions, while in the southern parts, crop conditions remain average or below average.
★ Most regions will require rainfall within the next 10–15 days to maintain the potential for average or better yields.

Desi Chickpeas
★ Currently, limited volumes are being exported via containers, with bulk shipments expected to resume in October.
★ Prices are steady at around AUD \$800/tonne for prompt delivery and \$700/tonne for new crop (November–December).

★ Exports have slowed as global buyers await Canada’s new crop; current trade is mostly container-based.
Prices are:
Nipper type: $770/tonne
Jumbo type (for Sri Lanka): $820/tonne
SA forward sales (delivered to port): $740–$750/tonne
