Australia Sowing Estimates 2025 – The Grain Industry Association of Western Australia
Barley
★ Barley sowing is expected to increase, with the area likely to reach around 20% of the total crop area.
Wheat
★ Wheat sowing is expected to decline slightly compared to 2024.
Canola
★ Due to favorable weather in southern regions, canola sowing may rise, but overall area will remain below the previous 2 million hectares due to dry conditions in the north.
Oats
★ Oat sowing is expected to increase again this year.
Pulses
★ Sowing in the southern regions is likely to remain stable, but in central regions, lentil sowing is expected to rise due to strong prices in 2024.
★ Chickpea sowing may also increase.
