Noida. The Central Government's subordinate agency - National Cooperative Consumer Federation (NCCF) has sent a letter to all the millers included in the panel and CSP of Bharat brand products informing that from June 1, 2024, no payment should be accepted in terms of cash (100 percent UPI) during the retail sale of Bharat brand products and hence the concerned parties are requested to stop the sale of these products through mobile vans (moving vehicles).
Now onwards, Bharat brand products should be sold only through fixed points (permanent shop) or retail outlets. The concerned parties can also continue to sell these products through their distributor network.
It is worth mentioning that government agencies like NCCF and NAFED and Central Stores have been entrusted with the responsibility of retail sale of white (raw) rice,
wheat flour, gram dal and onion etc. under the name Bharat Brand, the price of which is already fixed. The price of white rice has been fixed at Rs. 29 per kg, flour at Rs. 27.50 per kg and chana dal at Rs. 60 per kg. Under the sale through mobile vans,
payment is received in cash from the buyers while online payment facility is available in retail outlets. NCCF fears that there may be some discrepancy or irregularity in cash payment. After this letter, the sale of Bharat brand food products through mobile vehicles will stop but its sale through other means will continue.
