Bilateral Trade Between India and the UAE Surpasses $100 Billion

New Delhi. Bilateral trade between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been witnessing consistent and significant growth, now exceeding the $100 billion mark. Both nations fully recognize the importance of their strategic partnership, which is creating new avenues for trade and investment.

Despite the atmosphere of unrest and instability in West Asia, the Middle East, and the Gulf region—partly due to tensions involving Iran and the United States—trade between India and the UAE continues unabated.

Earlier this week, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied by a high-level delegation, paid a two-day visit to India. During this visit (October 19–20), the two sides held detailed discussions on various issues concerning bilateral trade and investment, identifying existing obstacles and challenges, and deliberating on measures to overcome them.

Notably, India exports a wide range of goods to the UAE, including significant quantities of Basmati rice and spices, while importing products such as mineral oil and natural gas.

During the delegation-level talks, both nations expressed satisfaction with the steady progress in bilateral cooperation across sectors including trade, investment, energy, defense, and technology.

The commercial ties between India and the UAE remain deep and robust, with the scope of their business engagement continuing to expand.
