China Edible Oils Production and Import Report: May 2025 (CAOC)
★ According to the latest data from the CAOC, China’s total edible oil production fell by 0.3%, declining from 30.76 million tonnes last year to 30.67 million tonnes this year.
★ Soybean oil production dropped by 3.4%, from 17.76 million tonnes to 17.16 million tonnes.
★ Rapeseed (mustard) oil production saw a 1% decline, falling from 7.84 million tonnes to 7.76 million tonnes.
★ Total imports of edible oils declined by 4.2%, from 8.07 million tonnes to 7.73 million tonnes.
★ Palm oil imports increased by 6.1%, rising from 3.3 million tonnes to 3.5 million tonnes.
★ Rapeseed oil imports grew by 2.9%, up from 2.04 million tonnes to 2.1 million tonnes.
★ Soybean oil imports, however, fell sharply by 47.4%, from 0.38 million tonnes to 0.2 million tonnes.
★ Total consumption of edible oils is expected to decline by 1.9%, from 37.35 million tonnes to 36.65 million tonnes.
