New Delhi. Donald Trump achieved the magic number of victory in the presidential election on 5 November 2024 in the United States of America (USA) and with this he was elected as the 47th President of America.
As per the export convention, the new President of America will be sworn in on 20 January 2025. If 20 January is a Sunday, then the date of oath is fixed as 21 January.
Donald Trump's relations with the Indian Prime Minister are very good and hence India is expected to get some benefit in the field of trade-commerce and military equipment in the coming time.
It is understood that Donald Trump may try to tighten the screws on China. During his previous tenure (2016-2020), he had imposed heavy customs duty on the import of many Chinese products and under a very important agreement, forced China to import billions of dollars worth of American agricultural products - especially soybean, corn and wheat etc.
Due to the Taiwan crisis, relations between America and China have been deteriorating. America remains a major market for import of many Chinese goods, which Donald Trump can try to curb.
This can give India an opportunity to increase the export of its products there. Donald Trump has said that he prefers peace and progress instead of war.
This indicates that he can take some concrete steps to end the ongoing war in Central Asia and the Black Sea region.
But he will be able to take power in America only on January 20-21 and he will spend a few days understanding the situation, so he will be able to take any concrete decision only in February 2025.
The Indian Prime Minister has sent a congratulatory message to the newly elected US President. Donald Trump has given full cooperation and support to India on many fronts and the same is expected from him in future as well. This may increase the threat to Pakistan.
