The Food Corporation of India (FCI) offered 100,000 tonnes of wheat under the Open Market Sales Scheme (OMSS) through e-auction, and in the second consecutive week, 1,480 processors successfully purchased 99,815 tonnes of wheat in the auction held on December 11.

State-wise analysis shows that out of 23 states, 19 states recorded 100% offtake, while the northeastern region saw 85% offtake, and other states registered around 99% of sales.

The central government has fixed the reserve price of wheat at ₹2,325 per quintal, but the price varies across states based on transport and taxes. Assam saw the highest price at ₹3,393 per quintal, while Maharashtra had the lowest at ₹2,465 per quintal.

The sales under this scheme will continue until March 31, 2025, with a total of 2.5 million tonnes of wheat to be sold in the market.
