Farmers Disheartened by Falling Rice Prices
★ Rice prices have remained very low for a long time, significantly below the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
★ The decline in prices is attributed to high production and a large stock in the central pool.
★ Farmers are unable to recover their production costs.
★ During the Kharif season, the Telangana government had announced a bonus of ₹500 per quintal over MSP, but no such bonus has been declared for the Rabi season.
