Government Extends Groundnut Purchase Period in Rajasthan
★ The groundnut purchase period has been extended by 10 more days, now ending on February 28.
★ A record 12.23 lakh metric tons of groundnuts were purchased in Gujarat.
★ The central government increased the limit of groundnuts a farmer can sell per day to 200 maunds, which boosted the purchase.
★ In the last five years, a total of 22.84 lakh metric tons have been purchased.
★ The increase in purchase is due to prices in the mandis being below the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
