Vijayawada. After making landfall along the coast of Andhra Pradesh, the cyclonic storm 'Arnab' is now moving toward other states in the country. On October 28, various parts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha experienced torrential rain accompanied by high-velocity winds.
This not only disrupted daily life but also raised concerns regarding potential damage to Kharif crops, including paddy. Additionally, reports indicate heavy rainfall in Telangana and Chhattisgarh.
According to the Meteorological Department, while the intensity and severity of Cyclone 'Arnab' have slightly diminished, it continues to advance. Consequently, heavy rainfall is expected on October 29–30 in states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu.
In some regions, this rainfall may prove beneficial for Kharif crops, while in others, it could potentially cause damage. The coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have been severely affected by this storm-driven rainfall. Meanwhile, states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka are in dire need of rain.
