Initial Phase of Wheat Procurement Crosses 900 Tonnes
★ Procurement is currently underway in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.
★ Wheat procurement has also started in Uttar Pradesh.
★ Madhya Pradesh has set a target of 6 million tonnes and Rajasthan 2 million tonnes for wheat procurement. Both states are also offering a bonus over the MSP.
★ In other states, government procurement will begin from April 1.
★ Wheat arrivals are picking up momentum daily in Madhya Pradesh.
★ The permissible limit for shriveled and broken grains has been increased from 6% to 20%.
★ The limit for luster loss has also been raised to 10%.
