According to EIA data, U.S. ethanol production averaged 1.02 million barrels per day for the week ending May 2, down 20,000 bpd from the previous week.
Ethanol stocks declined by 198,000 barrels, to 25.191 million barrels.
Ethanol consumption by refiners dropped by 22,000 bpd to 886,000 bpd, while exports fell by 12,000 bpd to 129,000 bpd.
The Export Sales report is scheduled for Thursday morning.
Analysts expect Old Crop corn sales to range between 0.7 and 1.4 million metric tons (MMT), and New Crop sales between 0 and 300,000 metric tons.
Next week, the USDA will release its first balance sheet report for the season.
According to a Reuters survey, analysts expect a yield of 181.1 bushels per acre (bpa) and total production of 15.787 billion bushels.
Brazil exported 178,347 metric tons of corn in April, a 79.53% decrease from March but higher than the same month in 2024.
