International Corn Market
According to the USDA’s Export Sales report for the week ending June 19, a total of 741,226 metric tons of old crop (2024/25) corn was sold. This figure was within the expected range of 0.5 to 1.2 million metric tons, though it was the lowest weekly sales since the first week of 2025. Still, it was 36.7% higher than the same week last year. Colombia was the top buyer with 191,000 metric tons, followed by Japan at 178,900 metric tons.
For the new crop year 2025/26, sales reached 305,506 metric tons, near the upper end of the estimated range (100,000 to 350,000 MT) and marked the highest weekly sales in the past six weeks. Mexico was the leading buyer with 138,500 metric tons, and 124,000 metric tons were sold to unknown destinations.
Datagro raised its estimate for Brazil’s corn crop by 1.3 million metric tons to 134 MMT, with the second crop projected at 108.5 MMT. According to the Buenos Aires Grains Exchange, Argentina has harvested 55% of its corn crop.
The International Grains Council lowered its global corn production estimate by 1 MMT to 1.276 billion metric tons, while consumption was raised by 1 MMT. Global corn ending stocks were cut by 2 MMT to 282 MMT.
