International Cotton Market
ICE cotton prices on Wednesday closed 1 to 26 points lower across most contracts, with the thinly traded October contract seeing the sharpest drop. Crude oil rose 10 cents to $66.62 per barrel, while the U.S. dollar index gave back early-week gains, falling 0.320 to 97.990.
The Seam reported sales of 2,521 bales on Tuesday at an average price of 61.21 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index was down 70 points at 78.75 on July 15. ICE cotton stocks remained steady on July 15, with certified stocks at 34,234 bales. USDA’s Adjusted World Price (AWP) is 54.71 cents per pound, effective through Thursday evening.
